Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base:

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Monster Decorations:

  • Candy eyeballs (various sizes)
  • 1 cup colorful frosting (green, orange, purple)
  • ½ cup candy melts or sprinkles
  • Mini Oreos or cookies (optional, for monster mouths)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Add melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 25–30 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
  7. Spread colored frosting over each square.
  8. Add candy eyeballs, sprinkles, and mini cookies to create monster faces.
  9. Serve immediately or store as directed.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake by 2 minutes.
