Description

Buttery cookies rolled in sprinkles with colorful icing centers. These Halloween thumbprint cookies are festive, fun, and perfect for parties.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Halloween sprinkles

Icing:

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • ⅛ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp melted butter
  • 1 ½ tbsp milk (adjust for consistency)
  • Gel food coloring

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
    2. Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Mix in salt, then flour.
    3. Scoop dough, roll into balls, coat with sprinkles.
    4. Press thumb into each ball to create an indentation.
    5. Bake 10 minutes, press centers again, bake 7–8 minutes more.
    6. Cool completely on a rack.
    7. Mix icing ingredients until smooth, divide into bowls, and tint with gel colors.
    8. Spoon icing into cookie centers. Add candy eyes if desired.

  • Don’t flatten cookies too much; they’ll spread slightly while baking.
  • Use gel coloring for bold Halloween shades.
