Description

These Maple Honeycrisp Apple Fritters are golden, crispy on the outside, soft inside, and filled with juicy Honeycrisp apples. Finished with a sweet maple glaze, they’re the ultimate cozy fall dessert, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Apple Fritters:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pie spice (pumpkin or apple)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ⅔ cup buttermilk
  • 2 large Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced (~3 ¼ cups)
  • Oil, for frying

Maple Glaze:

  • 2 ¼ cups powdered sugar
  • ⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 34 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and pie spice.
  2. In another bowl, beat eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and buttermilk until smooth.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a thick batter.
  4. Fold in diced Honeycrisp apples until evenly distributed.
  5. Heat oil in a medium pot to 360ºF.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, drop batter into hot oil in small batches. Fry 3–4 minutes until golden and crisp.
  7. Transfer fritters to a paper towel-lined tray to drain.
  8. For glaze, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, salt, and milk until smooth.
  9. Dip or drizzle glaze over fritters. Let set before serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of apple pie spice to the glaze.
  • To reheat, bake at 350ºF for 8–10 minutes—avoid microwaving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 2 days, or freeze for 2 months.
